Teodoro Constantiner
We mourn the passing of our dear friend Teddy Constantiner on Thursday, August 14, 2008, in Los Angeles.
A devoted friend of Israel and long-time benefactor of Tel Aviv University, his philanthropy was grounded in the Constantiner-Sourasky family's passionate legacy of support for Jewish identity and continuity.
Together with his four brothers, Roberto, Arturo, Victor and Leon -- with whom he had a special bond -- Teddy's generosity nurtured the growth of a number of important institutions throughout Latin America and Israel. These include the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), and TAU's esteemed Jaime and Joan Constantiner School of Education, named for their parents. Jaime Constantiner was a leader in the movement to spread Jewish education throughout the diaspora, and served as Vice Chair of TAU's Board of Governors; Joan Constantiner played a significant role in spreading Jewish culture throughout Latin America.
Teddy Constantiner's warmth, kindness and caring spirit touched all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his American Friends and throughout the Tel Aviv University family.
