Tel Aviv met Hollywood in New York as nearly 150 Israeli and American friends of Tel Aviv University enjoyed a screening of three short, powerful films. Dark Night (directed by Leon Prudovsky), 10 Weitzman Street (directed by Pini Tavger) and Last Respect (directed by Omri Shenhar, a U.S. premiere) were all written and directed by students from the award-winning Department of Film and Television at TAU.

Alan Aufzien, Chairman Emeritus of AFTAU's Board of Directors, welcomed the enthusiastic audience after a reception of networking, socializing and conversation with the directors. Following the screening, Jonathan Wachtel of Fox News sat down with directors Tavger and Prudovsky for a discussion and question-and-answer session. The directors shared behind-the-camera insights about their films and talked about language barriers, challenges faced by emerging directors, the Israeli film industry, and offered entertaining personal anecdotes.

The success of this exciting event was due in no small part to promotion by the NY Alumni Leadership Committee and the Consulate General of Israel in New York.
