UCLA Anderson School of Management, MBA, 2008

Two experiences impacted me most as a new citizen of Israel: Serving in the IDF and being a graduate student at Tel Aviv University.

I moved to Israel in 1997, a few years after earning my BA from UCLA. Israel was full of opportunity and challenge, but very different from my Jewish upbringing in Indiana. TAU provided me a vital community and identity far beyond its academic offerings.

While in Israel, I worked for a tech start up ,and later as breaking news desk editor for Haaretz and Yedioth Ahronoth. In 2005, I returned to UCLA for MBA studies at the Anderson School of Management. After graduating I worked for Goldman Sachs before starting Acacia Blue Asset Management in 2010.

What and when did you study at TAU?

I completed my studies at the TAU Film Department in 2008.

What are you doing now professionally?

I'm a film writer and director currently working in Los Angeles. Since completing my graduate short film Roads at TAU, I sold my first feature script here in LA and am presently in development of two feature films.

What's your best TAU memory?

If I should choose one best memory at TAU, it would have to be the last day of production on my graduate film. Late into the night of an arduous sixteen-hour shooting day, within the narrow alleys of Yaffo's Ajami neighborhood, I look at my thirty fellow TAU film students — who have been tirelessly working for the past two weeks to help me complete my short film — and looking like a group who you would believe had just stormed the beaches of Normandy, they cried out in joy as we completed our last shot of the movie.
