Performing to thunderous applause, members of the renowned Symphony Orchestra of Tel Aviv University's Buchmann–Mehta School of Music made a spectacular debut at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall on May 21, 2012.
Welcoming the audience, AFTAU Chairman Jon Gurkoff called the evening "a celebration of excellence and the opportunity for excellence." Both were on ample display.
Maestro Zeev Dorman, head of the School conducted a winning program of Mozart and Vivaldi featuring singers, string soloists, and the full ensemble — a combination of students, professors, and young Israeli professionals. Their extraordinary display of musicianship delighted the audience again and again.
Although the orchestra has performed at major venues around the world, this special Carnegie Hall set a thrilling new record of achievement.
