Nearly 60 American Friends gathered at the elegant Goethe-Institut townhouse on Beacon Hill for a warm Alumni Chanukah Party and a film screening.

Participants lit the sixth candle at a reception that included latkes, sofganiyot, and other Middle Eastern treats, and were addressed by Gil Brieman and Hagit Weihs, co-chairs of AFTAU’s Boston/New Eengland Alumni leadership Committee.

Guests especially enjoyed a program of three powerful award-winning short films — Dark Night, Papa, and Roads — created while their directors were students at TAU's internationally renowned Department of Film and Television. After the screening, they were treated to a personal and wide-ranging interview with director Leeor Kaufman (Papa) conducted by the Boston Jewish Film Festival's Sara Rubin.

The party was part of a series of events for Boston-area alumni — with more to come.
