At an intimate gathering featuring a view of a safer, cleaner future, AFTAU launched an engaging new calendar of events for the Philadelphia area.
Invited guests, most of whom were non-scientists, agreed that featured speaker Prof. Reuven (Ray) Boxman, director of Tel Aviv University's Electrical Discharge and Plasma Laboratory, made the exotic subject of plasma engineering not only understandable but extremely interesting — and they enjoyed hearing about his own Philadelphia roots.
Hosted by Blank Rome LLC, guests were warmly welcomed by partner Matthew Comisky, whose father, Marvin Comisky, founded the law firm and was a long-serving member of the AFTAU Board of Directors. The program also featured greetings from The Hon. Daniel Kutner, Consul General of Israel, Mid-Atlantic Region.
The event was presented in collaboration with the Consulate General of Israel in Philadelphia; the Drexel University Office of International Programs; the Judaic Studies Program at Drexel University; the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia; and the A.J. Drexel Plasma Institute.
Guests enjoyed the opportunity to learn about a cutting edge field and to socialize with new friends. They're looking forward to upcoming AFTAU events in the City of Brotherly Love.
