Nearly 80 TAU alumni and friends gathered at the Witzenhausen Gallery in Manhattan's trendy Chelsea neighborhood for an exhibit of short videos by international women artists and an "auction of indulgences" to fund scholarships for deserving students at Tel Aviv University.
Event chair Raphael Sutton welcomed the partygoers, who bid generously in live and silent auctions for items including Knicks basketball tickets, a couples' massage, wine tastings and more. Proceeds will fund the Northeast Alumni Scholarship Campaign for the 2010/2011 academic year.
At the event, Alon Waks, new co-chair of the Northeast Alumni Leadership Committee, thanked departing chair Oren Heiman for his tireless work on behalf of AFTAU and Tel Aviv University. In an inspiring speech, Oren thanked his fellow alumni for their support and led blessings for the Sukkot holiday.
