More than 40 of TAU's most dedicated American Friends were among the first U.S. supporters to meet newly appointed president Prof. Joseph Klafter at the official residence of the Consul General of Israel in New York.
At an elegant Chanukah reception graciously hosted by the Honorable Asaf Shariv and his wife, Tzili, the Consul General warmly welcomed the AFTAU guests to his home and congratulated Prof. Klafter on his presidency.
Introduced by AFTAU chair William F. Cohen, Prof. Klafter eloquently outlined his vision for the university. He invited American Friends to help achieve that goal by supporting an active "brain gain" program to attract new young faculty of the highest caliber, keep top candidates at the university, and draw outstanding minds from around the world.
Prof. Klafter is looking forward to meeting with more of the AFTAU community during upcoming visits across the United States.
