An intimate group of new and old American Friends gathered for an exclusive lunch and discussion with Prof. Isaac Ben-Israel, Chairman of the Israel Space Agency and head of the Yuval Ne'eman Workshop in Science, Technology and Security at Tel Aviv University. The luncheon was hosted by JP Morgan Private Banking in their elegant and historic Manhattan building.

AFTAU board member Michael Shaoul welcomed Prof. Ben-Israel, who spoke about Israel's excellent tradition of space research and development, which ranks fifth among the nations of the world. He noted that although Israel's innovative satellite technology was originally developed for Israel's defense, it is now being expanded to commercial and civilian uses as well.

Guests enjoyed the opportunity to talk directly with one of Israel's top government scientists.
