AFTAU Business Breakfast with Dr. Giora Yaron

An intimate group of executives and entrepreneurs from the worlds of finance, law, and venture capital gathered at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to hear from Dr. Giora Yaron, one of the founding fathers of Israeli high-tech.

Harvey Krueger, Chairman of TAU's Board of Governors, warmly introduced Dr. Yaron, and AFTAU Chairman Jon Gurkoff opened and closed the proceedings, which were organized by John Coyne of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Dr. Yaron gave an informative and thoughtful presentation about the Israeli "triangle of success" — how academia is fuelling Israel's thriving economy through the education of the nation's scientists, high-tech pioneers, and inventors of cutting-edge defense systems. He cited TAU's deep commitment to multidisciplinary education and the strong business school that provides the business know-how behind Israel's growing reputation as a "start-up nation," stressing the need for Israel to evolve to an "industrial nation." He is Chairman of both Tel Aviv University's Executive Council and Ramot, TAU's technology transfer company.
