Megiddo: Modern Technologies Decipher the Past with Prof. Israel Finkelstein

A standing-room-only crowd of old and new friends, alumni, and New York University faculty and students enjoyed a reception and got an exciting 21st-century look into the ancient past with Tel Aviv University's Prof. Israel Finkelstein, director of the renowned Megiddo excavation in Israel.

After an introduction from NYU's Prof. Daniel Fleming, Professor of Hebrew Bible and Assyriology at NYU, Prof. Finkelstein gave a historical overview of the excavation, showcasing new hi-tech breakthroughs in paleo-climate research and DNA testing. The reception and fascinating presentation were presented in partnership with NYU's Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies.
