The Homeland of Homeland

Nearly 100 TAU and OSP alumni and friends gathered at Sonya and Howard Waldow's beautiful Beverly Hills home for a warm and intimate evening with Gideon Raff, the award winning, creator, writer, and director of Showtime's Homeland, and Pat Saperstein, deputy editor of Variety and founder of eatingla.co. Pat interviewed Gidi, a graduate of TAU's Department of Film and Television, and offered an insider's perspective of the show, based on his earlier Israeli series Hatufim. The evening included clips from both versions of the show, and a lively Q&A. The Southern California Alumni Leadership Committee was represented by Edward Moran and Orna Yarzin as well as TAU alums Lior Geller, Roy Balle, and Yoram Gutman. Among the American Friends were Dr. Peter Kraus, Agi Hirshberg, Paula Goldman of the Broadcom Foundation, and Nancy Sacks of the Jewish Federation. AFTAU President & CEO Gail Reiss, who flew in from New York for the event, thanked the Waldows for their hospitality and generosity.
