A Classical Evening

A concert of Impressionist works by Debussy and Ravel

An intimate group of TAU alumni, friends, and AFTAU leaders gathered at Laura Ornest and Rick Leslie's Santa Monica home for a warm musical evening. The lovely performance — by Elad Kabilio, cellist and a TAU double alumnus, and pianist Ben Laude — included a "concert talk" program exploring the glorious depiction of water in Impressionist works.

AFTAU Board member Ruth Steinberger addressed the guests with a heartfelt invitation to visit the university and its impressive, award-winning campus. The Southern California Alumni Leadership Committee was represented by Jessica and Clark Hoover and Anne and Andrew Kaplan, and Board of Governors members Dr. Gerald Niznick and his wife Reesa, and Carolynne Smith-Drori and her husband Ze'ev appreciated the music and the company. Also enjoying the festivities were Janet Salter, Dr. Susan Krevoy and Leo Spiwak, Joseph Shalant and Wendy Kronick, Reinhard Prinz, Simon Bolotin, Agi Hirschberg, Elise Sinay-Spilker and Joanna Spilker.
