Itai Anghel is the recipient of the 2017 Sokolov Prize — Israel's Pulitzer — for his groundbreaking work covering Bosnia. He was then the youngest-ever recipient of the prize. Anghel has also been on the frontline in the fight against ISIS and the breakup of the Middle East as we knew it. He is a featured producer on UVDA, Israel's leading documentary and current affairs program, and has won the Israeli Forum for Documentary Filmmakers' Award for Best TV Documentary in five of the past six years. Anghel won the 2010 Cutting Edge Award at the London International Media Awards for his "superb and unbiased cover of the Middle East." He also founded a humanitarian project to help women raped during the Congolese Civil War. The project establishes clinics staffed by Israeli gynecologists in the jungles of East Congo to help the victims and provides ongoing support to local medical and nursing personnel. Anghel is a Tel Aviv University alum, and a lecturer at TAU, IDC Herzliya and Open University, and has been a guest lecturer at Harvard University.
