An Evening of Music

On a beautiful San Francisco evening, under a full moon, Barbro and Barney Osher hosted and chaired an Evening of Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music featuring Tomer Lev and the talented students of the Tel Aviv University Buchmann–Mehta School of Music.

Barbro and Barney graciously started the evening with an elegant buffet dinner in the Osher Salon, which was filled with old and new friends of Tel Aviv University.

Levi Weisman rang the performance chimes and everyone proceeded to the Recital Hall for an exciting MultiPiano performance by Tomer Lev and TAU alumni Berenika Glixman, Nimrod Meiry-Haftel, and Ayal Pelc.

Dr. Garry Rayant brought greetings from the American Friends of Tel Aviv University. Garry and his wife Dr. Kathy Fields are co-chairs of the TAU Global Campaign in the US.

Diane Zack, a board member of the SF Conservatory, welcomed the guests, and Barney Osher shared his story of the late Mayor of Jerusalem Teddy Kollek, who had once asked him to host young gifted Israeli musicians. Barney was happy to do it again.

The concert ended with a standing ovation and a special musical tribute to Sweden in honor of Barbro Osher, whose heartfelt response was deeply appreciated by all. She then invited everyone to enjoy coffee and dessert.

Also in attendance: Consul General Shlomi Kofman and Sharon Vanek, AFTAU National Board Chair Richard Sincere and board members Ricki Alon, Murray Zucker, and Luba Troyanovsky, along with Kathy and Garry. Ari Wein, Interim President & CEO, and Boaz Nol, AFTAU's new Senior Vice President of the Global Campaign, also joined us.

Thank you Barbro and Barney for a very special Evening of Music!
