The Holocaust Survivor’s Rights Clinic ensures the welfare and dignity of survivors. It recently represented a survivor entitled to a disability pension. In Israel, the Holocaust Survivors Rights Authority is responsible for all survivor pensions, including disability; and the National Insurance Institute is responsible for disability pensions for everyone else. The two agencies calculate pensions differently, which resulted in a lower maximum rate for survivors. In response to the Clinic’s petition, the court ruled that the Authority must use the Institute’s calculation method.
