The Workers Rights Clinic is using legal means to strengthen the status of Israeli workers; most notably, providing guidance, legal support and infrastructure in the 2007 launch of the Democratic Workers' Organization a major event in Israel labor history. The Clinic recently represented a woman fired for her organizing efforts to secure direct employment for herself and other contract workers. The company argued that she was fired due to unsatisfactory performance and problems with her direct supervisor. The court ruled on behalf of the plaintiff, saying that contract workers' right to organize for direct employment is included in freedom of association as long as it is conducted fairly and in good faith and despite any potential financial losses to their employer. The woman received financial compensation and was reinstated into her previous position.
